At the beginning of January, I posted my ‘New Years Resolution’ post, and I decided that this year I wasn’t focusing as much on trivial things like “stop eating chocolate” and “go to the gym every week” and instead I was going to focus more on specific goals. But since that post was so broad, I decided to sit down and make a list of a few smaller 2018 goals I want to accomplish by December 31st. I’ve said since the end of last year that 2018 was going to be my year, I’m in such a great place emotionally, physically and in my work, that I know this year is going to rock – so here’s a few of my personal goals for 2018!
Get back into the swing of bullet journaling and get that life on track!
I use to bullet journal back in 2016, and then when my mental health hit an all time low, I decided to stop. Since I feel more like myself, and I want to get back into my organised life, I’ve decided to pick back up those calligraphy pens and start bullet journaling again. Bullet journaling is a great way for people who learn visually and also, some days don’t do much! Because you make every page the way you need it, which is why it’s the perfect journaling method for me, and I can’t wait to get back too it.
Remember to take my medication every day, and get my psoriasis back under control
My psoriasis has taken over my life recently – my skin has flared up so badly that it hurts and burns almost everyday. I stopped taking my medication because my eyes became bad and my vision became super blurry, and I started to get migraines every single day and thought it could be because of the tablets – but since meeting with my dermatologist twice since Christmas, my dosage has been restarted, upped and well… I’m back to pill popping everyday, as well as all my other medication… So 2018 will be the year I get my skin back under control, I promise.
Conquer my reading list
Okay, okay, I will admit, I’m addicted to reading, but I’ve let it slip. I’ve been convincing myself that I’m ‘too tired’ to read, and then it’s been weeks since I’ve picked up a book at all. I have at least two shelves of books that I haven’t read, so this year (with the help of my trusty bullet journal) I am going to slowly conquer my reading list. I’m planning on reading AT LEAST 2/3 books a month, depending on the month, because I don’t want to restrict myself and then make myself feel bad for not hitting my monthly goal. I’ve also decided one way of making sure I keep to this, would be to do a monthly round-up of the books I’ve read on my blog, would any of you be interested? Lemme know!!
Make my bed everyday, and change my bed sheets every Saturday
Now, I don’t make my bed. Ever. I feel like, if I’m going to get back into it in the evening, then why should I make my bed? I also don’t change my sheets enough considering my skin condition. I flake skin off everywhere and well, it’s disgusting – so that’s something I need to do. I’m changing up my morning and night routines in order to incorporate a cleaner and healthier life – new year, new bed sheets and all that jazz.
Indulge myself in more self care
I need to love myself more, I know this. 2018 is the year I’m going to spend AT LEAST an hour a day, maybe painting my nails, having a bubble bath, enjoying a face mask, doing something that focuses solely on me. Self-care is so important and during 2017 I sacrificed my self-care for other people, and other things. But now it’s time to make sure I’m at my happiest, healthiest and sexiest. Also moisturising everyday, please Lord, help me remember to moisturise everyday.
Practice my make up skills, and up that glam game
I love make up. I love playing around with colours and styles and I want to get better. I went to spend time perfecting my skills, and learning all the techniques I find interesting. I want to go from 5/10 to 12/10. I’m ready to be a fabulous sparkling princess that you’d be proud to take home to your MUA mother.
So that’s my 2018 goals so far, I’ll probably be finding more throughout the year, but so far, these are the ones I want to focus on! What are your goals for 2018? Anything you want to accomplish? Holla at me!
