It’s now September and I’ve had a whirlwind month. As well as everything else I’ve found some new favourite things and reignited my love for some oldies but goodies. Favourite posts have always been one of my favourites to read (pardon the pun) so since I’m back blogging almost everyday and I’m trying out a lot more products for you guys I feel like now is the chance for me to tell you what I’ve been loving!
I don’t have many favourites this month because a lot of the things I’m loving I’ve already talked about in detail in different blog posts – so here’s 5 new things I’m adding to my favourite things of all time.
Now this is a very random love of mine this month. I bought this mirror at the end of July and it has served my well since then. The mirror is large and the lights that surround the mirror allow for easy makeup application in any light. I find that it’s super useful for when I do eyebrow maintenance and you need that little extra light to find those stubborn hairs – this mirror is super cheap and it looks great on almost every vanity. Confession – I’ve been looking for a yellow raincoat for as long as I can remember and when I came across the bright yellow coats in New Look I was a little disappointed. They reminded me of a lollypop lady and my mum laughed when she saw me in it, it really wasn’t cute on me. But, when I came across this gem on the New Look website my heart stopped. You’ve all probably seen this coat on me because for the past few blog posts it’s been everywhere. Mustard is my favourite colour at the moment and the striped cuffs really completely the look for me. Because of the wonderful British summer I have had a lot of wear out of this coat – it’s lightweight so I don’t get too warm and I bring sunshine to those cloudy days. This is definitely my favourite purchase this year. (£39.99)
Now, I only recently got an office space (all from IKEA) but the one thing I am living for has made my life a dream come true. As I sit at my desk in my comfortable high back chair, my Macbook Pro is sitting on a super cheap and chic stand. I’ve been browsing these stands on Amazon for the longest time, but I could never bring myself to spend more than £10 on something that seemed so trivial. So when I popped to IKEA for one of my monthly fantasy trips I saw it and it went straight in my basket. It’s the perfect height for comfortable typing for long periods of times and as someone who bangs out blog posts one after the other some days and stirs at an essay for hours, comfort is a priority. I would highly recommend something like this if you spend long periods of time at a desk – it also looks super cute so there’s no worries there. (£1.50)
#4. Game of Thrones, season 7.
That’s it. Thrones has officially finished for the year and now we have to wait until *possibly* 2019 to see how everything ends. Devastated? I am too. Game of Thrones is my favourite series of all time – both the television programme and the books. I love everything about it – I couldn’t write an August favourites without it honestly.
I’m a self-confessed disbeliever in Kylie’s liquid matte lipsticks, but I love her velvets. Her shadows were hit and miss for me at the start when the Bronze palette was her only venture – now she has seemingly improved her formulas and worked on shades that are beautiful. The Royal Peach palette for me is a perfect selection of colours, we get a decent sized mirror and the brush is now my go-to blending brush. I haven’t tried the Too Faced, Peach palette so I can’t compare the two, but in my opinion seeing the shades in it, Kylie has Too Faced beat this time. ($45/£34.75)
What are your favourites from August? Are you as excited about Autumn as I am? I hope you have a good day!
