We often start talking about Autumn when the nights start to draw in. Me on the other hand, I start talking about Autumn as soon as August starts. Autumn is my favourite season. I love the style, the colours, the cold and everything else that the season brings. I’m even one of those people that loves going back to school.
Since going back to university this year also means the start of some very important internships, I thought I’d breathe a little life into my usually very casual Autumn wardrobe. I live out the last few months of the year primarily in jumpers, sweater dresses and jeans, but I thought since I’m going to be living the office life, I’d take my own advice and dress for the job I want.
This isn’t going to be like a lot of the posts you see, I don’t have amazing photography skills, or a killer (media recognised) body or hundreds of pounds to spend in high street stores, but I hope you enjoy this post, leave a comment, what are some of your favourite things? Any Autumn trends/styles you dying to try!
Let’s start with my absolute favourite and FEATURED pick of the day. It was something I mentioned in my ASOS wish list and just HAD to get. It’s the yellow longline collared coat from New Look. It cost £34.99 which in my book is REALLY good for a coat of this standard. It fits well, it’s super warm (but not overly omg I’m sweating outside in a coat warm) and it has REAL pockets, I’ve seriously had enough of this fake pocket ish on coats. I have an obsession with coats and I own way too many and I probably shouldn’t have bought this one, but I’ve never owned a yellow coat.
Now, since I’m trying to be smart(er) I thought I’d try out some new fancy favourites. I live chiffon. I love blouses. Put them together and you’ve got my possible favourite thing to wear. I picked up three chiffon blouses from Primark for the grand total of £21. I only managed to snag a picture of the one blouse before I lost light (sorry) but I have got snippets of the patterns on the other shirts and they’re all the same style. Now, I’m a size 14/16 in clothes and I picked these shirts up in a size 20 and they fit me perfectly. I don’t know what Primark are playing at with their sizing lately but it’s messing up my mind. These shirts fit well (for their size) and look super cute tucked into a skirt (see the outfit above) as well as hanging lose over a pair of mom jeans.
My honourable mentions for this post is all about ASOS. I purchase two skirts from ASOS the other week and may God they are turning out to be some of my favourite basic purchases ever. One is a plain black skater skirt W/ pockets and the other is a distressed hem denim mini skirt. Whereas the denim skirt isn’t as smart(ish) looking as the skater skirt, I still feel like they’re going to serve me well over the coming months.
